10 Years of The GoodLife
What could possibly be better than…
Pouring your heart and soul into something you believe in?
Nourishing your community with quality and love in the form of comfort food?
Welcoming locals and visitors with open arms and a place to their feet up and sit a while?
Getting to do it for ten years.
The GoodLife has officially turned double digits and from the people who make it go to the organic and locally sourced in-house crafted treats, to being the town living room…
Our story has been a beautiful one so far and we can’t wait to keep on writing it with you.
Pictures really do speak a thousand words, though…
Scroll on for a little visual visit to the cafe from our start in March 2012, to a video walkthrough of our reopening in March 2022.
GoodLife Through the Years
One of our favorite parts of this journey has been the voices that make up the happy hum and buzz of the cafe. And, we’ve made it our mission to listen.
Here’s what some of those voices had to say back in the day…
“Wonderful! Everything made from scratch on the premises, nothing was bad! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, the menu varied and the baked goods amazing. We had soup and empanadas and then Russian teacakes and cheese cake. We loved it so much we went back on the second day. Fabulous!”
~Claire G, 2012
“The people who took over the place (I think last fall-2012) are so friendly and nice, as are the rest of the staff, and every time I’ve been in there they are hands on, happy to serve, believe in and enjoy their food too… At least this is how it has seemed to me! Its been fun watching it grow more and more delicious!”
~Julie R, 2013
“took a break from city life in mendocino for a couple of days and hit the goodlife cafe + bakery both days. coffee is fantastic, breakfast is great and the baked goods are amazing.
prices were reasonable and the quality of everything we had was outstanding. they even had nitrate free bacon.
lots of locals coming in to eat but to also take away coffee and baked goods. obviously a popular spot and we were glad we saw it on yelp. definitely get some russian tea cakes.”

GoodLife 2022
We’ve come a long way, baby! We couldn’t have done without each other – meaning all those smiling faces you see behind the counter and in the kitchen who make the magic happen. And, of course, we couldn’t have done it without the love and support of our beautiful community.
After closing our doors for the month of February to spruce things up a bit around the ol’ GoodLife, the doors are back open. We’re over the moon to welcome our friends back in and to be able to offer indoor seating again.
Check it out…
What’s Next for the GoodLife?
We’re going to keep on keepin’ on with good vibes, good people, and good food.
And, we’re going to keep on listening to our folks and bringing you more of the good stuff you love, with an ever-open ear for what you want.
“Another 5 star week eating at the GoodLife. The club sandwich and tuna melt (special) are outstanding. Great salad sides. Love that you can order online and pick up, particularly helpful for morning coffee runs. Been eating here on vacation for years and it only gets better. Also, awesome friendly staff.”
~Shannon S. 2022
“The food and pastries were delicious. But I am leaving a review [because] I watched the staff treat someone less fortunate as a human and a customer. They called this man by his name and gave him hot food and drink on a cold and rainy day. Thank you for running a business with humanity and kindness.”
~Michael L. 2022
“Best cafe around! We are gluten free and they have the best options for gluten free diets and allergies! Amazing coffee with great breakfast and lunch menus and a delicious bakery with many options. If you haven’t been here you are missing out!!”
~Joseph W. 2022
Here’s to ten more years of all of the good things, for all of us. We can’t wait to see you at the GoodLife!
